What is the
NEVADA POLICY RESEARCH INSTITUTE?

The Nevada Policy Research Institute is a non-profit, non-partisan public-policy think-tank founded in 1991.

Through a variety of publications it provides documented research for Nevada citizens and leaders, helping them to make better decisions for the future of our cities, communities and state. NPRI focuses its research on economic growth, equal opportunity, educational reform, the environment, and governmental effectiveness with the long range goal of providing a climate for responsible taxation, better schools, and a favorable business climate.

NPRI embraces the principles of limited government, individual responsibility, and a free and competitive market.

WHAT ARE NPRI’S IDEAS?

NPRI researches and promotes ideas proven to create greater opportunities and prosperity for all citizens. Included are:

Increasing choice and opportunity in education by giving parents and children a choice in the school they attend.

Freeing the creative energies of entrepreneurs by reducing the government-imposed costs of starting and operating a business.

Opening up markets to business by supporting free and open trade, eliminating rules which restrict competition, and finding alternatives to government-protected monopolies.

Reducing the size and cost of government by privatizing services which competitive business can provide at lower cost and with equal or better quality.

Encouraging respect for the property of others and supporting protection against the “taking” of property by government.

Increasing the quality and availability of health care by removing government-imposed barriers to competition and medical advancement.
